The essay is split up into four questions, each question must be answered within a word limit of 630-770 words with in text citations. There is no limit to references, but it is a short essay so maybe there shouldn’t be more than 3 or 4 for a single question to leave room for personal interpretations.
Before answering the question, the question must be placed on top of it. The works cited page for a single question goes after every question.
The questions are as follows:
1. Is psychiatric diagnosis a source of empowerment or
enchainment for service users? Discuss with reference to
both contemporary and historical sources.
2. What factors would you take into consideration if evaluating
a mental health service for evidence of good service user
involvement?
3. Community care has been the logical result of
deinstitutionalisation. However, less research has evaluated
this than single interventions such as a medication or
therapy type. Discuss the challenges in evidencing good
community care.
4. Compare and contrast behavioural and cognitive models to
explain the origins of dysfunctional behaviours such as
phobias.
