Interpret either “Tending Two Shops” (pages 74-75 ) or “The Mouse and the Camel” (pages 142-143) by answering the following questions and be sure to refer to specific passages from the poem in your answer. Do not answer both questions. You will only get credit for one analytical essay.
1. What issues and/or concerns does the poem raise?
2. What images does the poem contain?
3. What do the images symbolize?
4. Does one image dominate the poem? What meaning does it convey?
5. What do you think is the theme or main point of the poem? Why? What specific passages express it?
